   I can only assume his name is short for Dark Schneider.

     Actually, its short for Darshen, which is a real name. Hindi/Indian origin. Means “Gift of God” or “Pondering, vision”. But he was heavily influenced by Bastard’s Dark Schneider. I’ve never denied that. But that’s not his name.
